Created for Tastes of Home, this lifestyle editorial celebrates food as a reflection of identity, family, and cultural heritage. The project follows three sisters, daughters of immigrants, as they explore cuisines from different cultures, using shared meals as a way to connect with their roots and with one another.

The visual narrative was designed to highlight each sister's individual personality while capturing the warmth, humor, and genuine connection that define their relationship. Through vibrant color, expressive moments, and a documentary-inspired approach, the imagery feels authentic, joyful, and deeply human.

The project combines on-camera flash photography inside the restaurant with natural light portraits throughout the surrounding streets, creating visual contrast while maintaining a cohesive editorial style.

Flash was used to enhance the rich colors and lively atmosphere of the restaurant, while the outdoor portraits embrace soft natural light to introduce a more relaxed, spontaneous feel. Together, both approaches reinforce the project's energetic and lifestyle-driven aesthetic.

Creative direction centered on encouraging genuine interaction rather than posed moments. The focus was on documenting the sisters' personalities, shared humor, and natural chemistry as they experienced each location together.

Rather than emphasizing the food alone, the imagery explores the emotional connections formed around it, allowing each frame to communicate a sense of belonging, curiosity, and cultural pride.

Tastes of Home explores how food becomes a language of memory, identity, and community. By combining editorial portraiture with documentary storytelling, the project celebrates the richness of multicultural experiences and the relationships that are built around the table.
